Project name
Upper Gallery / French Navy Barracks
Location
Chongqing
Project Date
2020.09.01

The Upper Gallery (UG), the former French Navy Barracks, performs multiple functions. Specifically, part of the UG serves as the gallery exhibiting Chongqing’s history since its opening as a port, and part of it as an art and design club themed on UG culture that combines furniture design, lifestyle, wine cellar, restaurant, and bookstore.

The collision between the Chinese and western cultures spanning from the past to the present days has made the site a popular photo spot over the past several years in Chongqing.

Tourists may have a rest and dine at the patio of the site, where VINEKO’s outdoor furniture collections are filled. Products with colors including black, white, and wood are selected to properly echo with the building materials, namely bricks, stones, and wood. There are the manually woven Tania rattan chairs in a concise, elegant shape and the Walden leisure sofas featured by both elegance and unique characteristics.
