After intense discussions lasting for up to three days in Hamburg, Germany, 78 international design experts from 20 countries chose the winners of the 2020 iF Product Design Award based on 7,298 entries from 56 countries, and the HALO lounge chair designed by VINEKO was awarded the Product Design Award. Previously, the HALO lounge chair had been awarded the Top Kapok Prize in Guangzhou Design Week.
The HALO lounge chair drew its inspiration from the mysterious, elegant rings of Saturn. The annular frames are interlaced on the stable “X” construction, and the innovative structure makes the chair easy to fold, store, and carry.
The sunshade made of soft, breathable, anti-UV Batyline serves to create a comfortable experience while providing privacy.
Breaking the conventional structures of lounge chairs, it adopts a simple yet unique design, which is practical and amusing.
“It’s a great honor that VINEKO’s design was recognized by international experts, which made us more confident about the future of China’s outdoor furniture design. We will remain committed to our design philosophy and provide a consistent experience to users so that they may enjoy their outdoor life to a larger extent.”
Note:
The iF Product Design Award was founded in 1953 and was annually conferred by the iF Industrie Forum Design, a Hannover-based organization providing industrial design services which operated from 1953 until 2018. Today, iF International Forum Design confers the Award on an annual basis, and it selects the winners based on well-known evaluation principles of “independence, rigor, and reliability”. The award aims to raise public awareness of design, and its most widely-recognized award, the iF Gold Award, is known as “the Oscar of product design” in the community.
